Overview
Cruise needed help on designing their very first safety report that was going to be released to the public. The report would be accessible on the Cruise Safety website for Cruisers, regulators, and any member of the general public to access.
The report contains important and comprehensive information which summarizes the philosophy and implementation of safety in autonomous vehicle development. Cruise talks about their safety approach — how they define safety, the mechanisms they have created to make safety the top priority across the company.
Objective
Cruise's vision for the report was for it to be highly visual, content driven, and engaging. They not only believe in amazing branding, but also wants to do things differently than their competitors -- be unique, and stand out.
My Role
My goal was to make sure the designs were not only on-brand (beautifully & thoughtfully executed), but content was easy to digest -- more importantly skimmable through 175 pages.
My approach was to establish consistent elements that I could use throughout the report, identify key elements to pull-out, bold, emphasize. Aside from being the main designer and content strategist, I also worked with their internal content / legal team to come up with better ways to communicate infographics that were shown in the report.
